Traditionally, musicians have found that writing lyrics and then composing rhythms to fit the words is a more efficient process than composing rhythms first and then forming lyrics. A recent survey, however, found that top selling artists are much more likely than those with less recognition to build the rhythm and chords before writing lyrics. This confirms the alternative view that composing rhythms first creates more enjoyable music than does writing lyrics first. Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

Writing lyrics before attempting to compose rhythms is inappropriate for an artist seeking to become a top seller.

Top selling artists have the ability to create enjoyable music by writing rhythms first than by writing lyrics first.

The songs written by artists with less recognition can be composed as easily by writing the lyrics first as by writing the music first.

Top selling artists compose a majority of their songs by writing the rhythms first.

Top selling artists create music that is more enjoyable than do lesser known artists.
