D suggests Beatrix Potter rather than her book illustrations was carefully coordinated with narratives.

(c) is the correct choice - it's the only answer without modifier issues.

(d), as pointed out, has "Beatrix Potter" as the referrent of the phrase "Carefully coordinated with her narratives", which makes no sense.
