quitting a job to apply for MBA negatively affect profile??

Hi guys,

does anybody know that whether umemployed status would cast a shadow on the my application when being reviewed by the board of admission ? I quit the job this August so as to be fully prepared for my application now. Somebody told me recently that would do bad to me without any employment....
