Hi ,
My name is Abhishek Gupta ,i recently re-appeared for GMAT exam and was able to get a score of 700.a big credit for my score goes to Beat the GMAT and its various forums.
Now that the first step towards MBA is finished i really want guidance towards MBA Admission in a good B school.
Please evaluate my profile and provide your suggestions about what i need to do and which all schools will be suitable to apply and where do i stand a chance of getting an admission.
My preference is US , Europe and Asian schools.
Apart from my score mentioned here are credentials:-
1)completed Engineering Degree from reputed Engg clg (Jamia Millia , New Delhi)in Electronics and Comm.
2)During my Engg. i was involved with Event management events , this is different from what most people do in there Clg days.
(these events provided me exposure to peoples from varied background and help me financially , I am not sure if i should mention this in my essays will this be taken as a -ve ?)
3)Got campus placement into TCS and went for TCS training in Trivandrum, India.
5)Worked for 1.7 Years in Gurgaon as software developer and completed several successful assignments.
6) Started my own restaurant in Gurgaon in partnership but the venture failed after 6 months.
(I would really like to know if i should mention about this point in application)
7) Sent to United states by TCS to work at Client office in RI. currently working in US for past 2 years at Client location as a development Lead .
8)the client which i am working with CVS Pharmacy : a leading Pharma retail chain .
(does this point add any weight to the application)
9) Working in an Onsite - Offshore model managing between team at offshore and clients at onsite. Major work revolves around gathering , analyzing the requirements and providing solutions to Offshore team for application development .
10) Have a good understanding of Pharma Retail Domain .

Hi agupta9,

Thanks for your post. Congratulations on your GMAT score! Given the information you've shared, I can suggest a few schools for you to consider. However, since I don't know your reason for seeking an MBA it's a bit hard for me to identify the best programs to suit your post MBA goals. However, I would suggest you apply to 4-6 schools with a mix of rankings in order to give you the best odds of success. Check out programs such as Cornell, Emory, Duke and UT Austin.

A great way to help identify and narrow a school list is to consider other factors such as whether you wish to live in a big city or a small town, class size as well as post MBA job opportunities.

Best,

Stacey
