Scored 690 in prep what now

by bhavya6187 » Mon Aug 20, 2012 3:24 pm
Hey guys,
As in your get started guide I took the first gmat prep test by mba.com and scored 690.
I am aiming for more than 730 and in the exam my weak point was the verbal section with 64
percentile.

Being an engineer the quant is more or less matter of little practice.

I will prefer to self prep and I am looking at giving GMAT in around 80 days.

Any advice on how I should proceed given I can devote around 2-3 hours at least everyday (maybe more when test comes closer).

690 is a very impressive score for someone who has just started. Verbal can pose a threat for you. Some books that I would recommend you for verbal are:
Manhattan GMAT SC Guide
Powerscore CR Bible

Also develop an habit of reading long passages on the computer. You can try reading sme articles at websites like New york times, scietific american or the economist
