GMAT Grammatical rules

Hi

Ive been reading Manhattan GMAT for SC. It says that SC is purely based on certain set of grammatical rules. And the rule base is not changed over time.

My understanding is that there are plethora of rules for English , which are relevant ... is there any such rule sets compiled anywhere or Manhattan rule set are good enough for cracking exam.
