Hi, I just took the GMAT. These are my scores: V38 Q49 Tot720 IR8 AWA4.0

I am wondering if the 4.0 can hurt my chances of getting into a top 10 school. If so, should I ask for it to be re-evaluated?
Does the fact I am not a a native English speaker (it's my second language) make any difference?

Thank you,

BTW, is it still possible to get a 4.5 now that there's only one AW assignment? I always thought 4.5 means 4 on one of the assignments and 5 on the other one...

Hi haratsnon,

Thanks for your post. And congrats on an overall strong GMAT score.

I have not seen a 4.0 AWA score hurt an application, especially for non-native English speakers. I would suggest focusing on the TOEFL though and targeting a score of 114+ to ensure questions are not raised about your ability to succeed in an English language classroom.

Please feel free to forward your resume to [email protected] for a detailed and free profile evaluation.

Best,
Heidi
