Kindly tell what is the level of this question either 700+
Statement 1: x^2= 1
Solve to get x=1 or -1
Since we're told that x is a negative number, we can be certain that x must equal -1.
So, statement 1 is sufficient.

Statement 2: x^2+3x+2
I'm assuming that this is meant to be an equation, presumably x^2+3x+2 = 0
Factor left-hand side: (x+1)(x+2)=0
This means that x=-1 or -2
We know that x is a negative number, but we're still left with two possible values of x.
As such, statement 2 is not sufficient.

Answer: A

As far as difficulty level goes, I'd say that this around the 500 level. That's my guess anyway.

Cheers,
Brent
