690 GMAT, 3.85 GPA, 7 years exp, Haas PT?

by IknowIcan » Tue Jul 24, 2012 11:38 am
Hi all,

I just took the gmat and got a 690. I have an undergrad GPA of 3.85 from a well reputed West Coast university in a highly competitive program. Also, I have been working for a Fortune 100 Financial Software company for the past 7 years and have consistently moved up at the company in the following roles:

Consultant
Sr. Consultant
Sales Engineer/Specialist
Sr. Sales Engineer/Specialist
Product Manager

I manage the flagship product for the company which brings $100+ million dollars in revenue. I have been solely responsible for several million dollars book of business in the Sales Engineer roles and now moved into the Product Management side managing resources and enhancing key product offerings. I am confused if I should retake the GMAT as I really want to attend Haas Part-Time. I am 27 years old.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance!

IKNOWYOUCAN!

I see you as a strong candidate for the Haas part time program. (I have had clients get in for the last three seasons so this is based on personal experience and comparison).

Your GPA is strong, and that move into product management is not easy to do and gets you into a more "managerial" track.

Your GPA looks fine too, but what were your percentile splits, quant vs verbal?

Thanks Alex.

The split was Quant Q45 68% and Verbal V39 88%.

With some strong essays, I think you will be OK. But if you have free time and really want to strengthen your position, then that quant percentile could be higher.
