In the figure above (bellow), points P and Q lie on the circle with center O. What is the value of s?

As you can see,

The figure is symmetrical around the Y axis. Also, both P and Q are points on the circumference of a circle so distance of P and Q from the origin is also the same.

Therefore, numerical value of s will be same as x coordinate of P but with sign reversed.

So, s = sqrt 3.

Hence D is the answer!

This problem can be solved without much calculation if you draw the figure properly, i.e. more or less to the scale as below,

Now, the two right angle triangles are congruent triangles as their angles have same measures and their hypotenuse is also equal.

Hence, s must be equal to 1 and t must be equal to √3

The correct answer is B.
