Re-applying retak or not retake GMAT

Hi,

Unfortunately I was rejected from Stanford, MIT and Berkeley MBA programs for this year.

I´m planning to reapply but this time in 1st round and I´m not sure if I have to retake GMAT, my score was 680 and since I stop practicing since last november I´m not sure if I´m going to reach a higher score by the time of 1st round submission.

I rather to spend my time improving my essays since I think that they were not strong enough.

My GPA is 4.0, and have more than 6 years of experience in consumer products companies in Supply Chan division.

Also, I´m planning to apply this year to 4 more schools such as Chicago, HBS, Stern and Ross.

Any advise will be very apreciated.

Did you get feedback from adcomm?

I'm encourage you to spend a good amount of time thinking about how to market/position yourself before re-working your essays so you'll have a coherent application.

Dear Jimat,

I concur with Jason that you need to get some feedback from these schools so you will know what to address in your applications next time. While I agree a 680 is a good score, it is below the average for many of the programs you mention. So you might consider retaking the test after preparing for a few months---but only retake if you are sure you can get your score up 30+ points.

You might also consider looking at some programs outside the top 10 but in the top 30 as alternative options. Many of these programs are outstanding and can provide you what you want in terms of curriculum and career opportunities.

MIT and Stanford do not give feedback. I will only receive feedback from Berkeley, what questions do you recommend me to ask to the adcom?
