Hi, I'm on the wait-list for my 1st choice part time program, ad have been accepted to my 2nd choice. Since being wait-listed I have switched firms and roles in my professional career. I alerted my 1st choice program (the one I'm wait-listed for) of my professional updates. The admin came back right away and congratulated me and asked for an updated resume, which I provided. Being that the programs start in a few months, I feel I have to make a decision soon. I have been in contact through email for my 1st choice; Would it be too aggressive to request a personal meeting with the Admin at first choice? I'm unsure of etiquette or protocol at this stage, but I'm up against the clock? What can I do to get an update from the waitlisted program? Thanks in advance
You can always ask for a meeting or an early decision, as long as you do so politely. I've seen people do this in the past, and sometimes it does get a positive response (though not always).
Worst comes to worst, if you are nearing the acceptance deadline for the first school, then you confirm your acceptance, pay your deposit and wait to see what happens with the other school.
