5 days to go

Hi,

My GMAT is on the 16th of July. So just 5 more days to go. I have completed the OG + Kaplan Premier + Kaplan 800 and I scored a 720 on my last mock CAT (Quant - 48, Verbal 41). What should be my strategy for the next few days.

As of now I am just practicising and reviewing more of CR and DS which are main main problem areas. 90% of errors in Quant are DS and about 60-70% of my errors in Verbal are due to CR. This mostly happens, due to a) pressure of time & b) not knowing when to give up on a question.

Any special tips or advice? I am also planning to give another mock tomorrow.

As far as your last few days go, use tomorrow's practice exam as your final one. Spend time going over the questions you get wrong, looking for consistent patterns...are you struggling with identifying which CR type it is? Do you default to picking values on abstract DS questions? If you can identify similarities in the mistakes you make, they'll be easier to fix. Use what you learn to guide your final few study sessions, and definitely take some time off before test day.

Another couple of quick questions -

A) speaking of patterns, I typically am unable to judge which values to plug in ds questions. So either I end up giving up after 2 tries or forget to consider all types of numbers. I realise I should typically consider only extreme number values. But any other tips on picking numbers under a time crunch?

B) my exam is at 5 in the evening. Anything specific I should watch out for?

A) One thing to keep in mind is that it's usually easier to prove insufficiency than it is insufficiency. If one category of numbers works, make sure to try a different category.

B) If you are currently working, I would recommend taking the day off. Do a light review in the afternoon: work a few problems that you know how to solve and will reiterate important concepts.
