Hi,

my last gmat score split is:Q-35 and V23 for 490 score overall.
I prepared quant from OG- answered practice questions from there, stumped in real gmat when the questions there were very tough, floundered in earlier questions and found it hard to complete in required time, pacing was a big problem.
prepared SC from Manhattan-basically did the whole book and questions from OG as well, but on exam day, answered based on "ear" sense.
I prided myself so good on CR since I did it from CR bible and as mentioned saw bold faced CR not sure if it was experimental or it came because of my good show.
RC-dint think I had to prepare- but my low RC score knows me that I did bad there

Now have just 7 weeks more for my exam, just scraping through rusty CR bible, need to start in quant concepts from scratch, SC just completed one chapter from Manhattan...

Help needed in terms of material to be used and strategy overall for my dream score of 750+(I know that's it so outrageous but lemme reach for the stars so that I land on the moon)..

Help needed as early as possible..

Many Thanks in advance

You clearly have a big challenge ahead of you, but the good news is that you already have the best materials to boost your score. For the next 7 weeks, you need to devote as much time to the GMAT as you can. Go through all of the MGMAT guides and the associated OG problems for each section. Be sure to error log and review, review, review.

Sentence correction is often considered one of the easiest/fastest ways to bring up your score. So, if you aren't going to have enough time to go through all of the CR and RC guides, at the very least make sure you have sentence correction mastered.

Lastly, did you take the GMATPrep tests? The difficulty of those tests should be pretty close to what you saw on the official test. How did your scores compare?

One thing to say about time spend studying. You need breaks. The only way your mind can process something is with rest. Ever notice how after a good night's sleep things are a little clearer. Do your GMAT work in 75 min segments (no shocker that this is the length of an exam section). And try to stay below 4 hours for a day. 3 75-minute sessions is the perfect way to go....

Thanks for your tips, last time I was able to manage only 2 mock tests and clearly scores matched up to what I saw, but I did not take any mock after I had done some more prep.
RC- Is this skim strategy fine?-read the first para, take own notes, read the first and last lines of next paras, rest of it-skim-It seems to be working little for me, but I guess my strike rate would improve with more practice?
SC- as mentioned I have started with MH-SC, I seem to be doing good when I know do those specific problems after each chapter when I know I need to look for S-Verb/Parallelism, but falter when I get a generic one when I dont know what to look out for?
CR- as mentioned I am doing good, one doubt here-is it sensible and feasible to take short notes of argument-I seem to be doing good with that but want to know if I am wasting time in that?
AWA-only bright aspect of last exam was I scored a 6.0 in my AWA, but now I have IR as well.
Mocks-How many mocks should I be taking before my real exam-does count matter?

Thanks Jim,

I always knew quality>quantity but was never able to convince myself.

Q-35 and V-23 which section am I more weak than the other?I know I am in both but to give me a sense which section am I more weaker relatively to the other?

I seem to be lacking big time in quant-any specific strat to encounter the same?

Thanks in advance
