sponsored candidates

by Lust4life » Tue Jun 19, 2012 6:54 am
hi, I am applying this fall. Fully sponsored by my company. But I am concerned I have 10 years of experience, and am over 40 years old. How does this affect my candidacy? My target schools are somewhere in US rank 20~40.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Have you considered applying to part time/evening/weekend programs? These programs offer the same courses and professors as full time programs, but they are target at those with more professional experience. You might find you are a better fit with these programs rather than traditional full time MBA programs simply because of your level of professional experience.

If you are set on applying to full time programs, be sure you can clearly articulate your goals, why now is the right time for you MBA (not 5 years ago), as well as why a particular school is the right fit for you. You may also wish to look at class profiles for the schools on your list to see which ones have a higher average age/amount of experience (i.e. Tuck and Ross).

Best,

Stacey
