Profile Evaluation

Hi Stacy

First time visitor and was quite glad to see some of the topics being discussed were actually those that were bothering me.

However, wanted to get your views on my profile.
I have taken GMAT thrice 650, 590, 700 all over 3 years ago.
I am 31 years old have close to 6.5 years of work experience in Consulting and Research in India.
I have also done my MBA equivalent from Mumbai University.

It just so happened that when I was done taking it the slowdown had just begun so had to postpone my plans for the MBA. I am planning to take the GMAT again sometime April 2012 and plan to join in the 2013 academic session.

I am planning the following schools
1. INSEAD
2. IMD
3. SAID Business school
4. Judge Business school
5. HKUST
6. CEIBS

Let me know your views regarding
a. The schools that I have chosen
b. My profile interms of the second mba and the age factor

Dear brijeshgs,

First, you need to verify that you are eligible to apply to any program you are considering as some schools do not allow student to earn a degree they already have from another institution. If you never completed the MBA at Mumbai University or if it is not viewed as equivalent to the MBA awarded from the schools you are targeting, then you should be fine--better to know before you invest time and money in applications though. Second, it is hard to comment with certainty on your competitiveness at any program based on the limited information in your post. Your age is not a negative as the mid-80% range of age for most programs tops out around 34-35. Likewise, your 700 GMAT is competitive for any MBA program. For the best chance of success at any program, you must use each application piece to your advantage, making a compelling case for your admission.

Good luck,
Lisa
