My answer is C:

to recognise: means that adults didn't get a chance to recognise the symptons of child abuse
of getting recignised: means the symptons should have been recognised by others - which I believe is the actual meaning

their is required since subject adults survivors is plural.

I vote for C too. and idiomatically also "chance of" is correct.

B and D are changing the intended meaning of the sentence.
E is switching from plural "survivors" to singular "his or her".

Has to be C. Though B is a tempting alternative, I think C stands out for the reasons cited above by Nischal&Anju

I looked for the concise and crisp choice and that was evident in C for the reasons already cited.

Why is the given statement wrong on the first hand? What's wrong with A?

as in A - "... or no chance that they could get their symptoms ..."

as in C - "... or no chance of getting their symptoms ..."

C is more clear and concise. So you can say A is wordy.
