60 Day Study - Day 1 Math

by Kymby » Wed May 30, 2012 7:06 pm
Hi,

I'm feeling rather down & frustrated after attempting the sample Math in the GMAT Review 12th Edition that was given, as I got almost 90% of them wrong. What's weird is that I've never been that horrible in math & did great with it during undergrad, but now I can't seem to remember any of the principles whatsoever. Is there any hope for me at all, please tell me there is a secret to this that I know nothing about, & that it will improve, because I cannot afford to do gmat classes right now & I'm feeling rather hopeless at the moment. I can't even remember how to use the functions on the scientific calculator, I feel like the biggest dumbbell.

I'm determined to do my best to get nothing less than a 720 so I can try to get into NYU, so what do I do :-(?

Kym

Hi Kym!
I've been a GMAT instructor for years. Don't worry, "math rot" as I like to call it happens to lots of test takers.
To catch up on your fundamental math, you can go to kahnacademy.com and get lots of quality instruction for free.
Good luck, hope that helps
