Hi,

I gave my GMAT on 13th May and scored a 700. I had got 620 in gmatprep
at the beginning of my preparation. I want to improve my score and I am
planning to give it another shot with the new pattern and a target of 770.

Here is what I had studied earlier :
QA (OG12 - accuracy 90%+) ,
SC(OG12,11,10 and both Verbal editions - accuracy 70%)
CR( OG 12 only)
RC( second half of questions from OG12)

I had given MGMAT mock wherein I had got only 680. I had given gmatprep tests but only thrice.
I think that I may have given less mocks in my run-in for the exams.

Please let me know what you think of my preperation and what I should do going ahead.
Maths has never been a problem to me, both content-wise and speed wise. I had 10 minutes to
finish my last 2 questions in main GMAT.

I plan to give gmat in july/august.

Thanks,
Devender

Hi,

I took my GMAT on 10 May and scored the same 700 - QA50,VA34. Even we also share the same target. 760.

Have you started your prep? If so, then what are the steps you are taking to improve the score.

I am planning to take GMAT in July 1st Week.

Thanks,
Charan

I'm not sure what will work for both of you guys, but it is pretty
clear from the break-up that you need to work on your verbal. If I
were you, I will work on getting my comfort level up on this section.

I do not see you listing MGMAT SC guide on the resources you used.
Please try it. It will help in building your skills on SC. You need
to be comfortable with every section of this guide and that might
require multiple sittings and application of the concepts on questions
you see on the various forums.

Depending on where your weakness in verbal is (SC, CR, RC), you need
to work and solve questions with focus on cementing your conceptual
understanding.

If I were you, I will

- first get my concepts clear from various books
- apply what I learned on questions from various forums/resources/
OG guide
- take some tests (MGMAT, GMATPREP)
- understand the mistakes that I'm making and keep tuning my concepts.

I'm sure if you do all the above, you will be in a good position to
get your desired score in verbal.

HTH and all the best
