It would be really great to know my chances of getting into NYU - Longone part time MBA program - Spring 2009. Here are my stats

Over 12 Years of work experience in a fortune 500 company.
Strong Product Marketing/ Social Media experience
Graduate (MS) degree in Management with a GPA of 3.89
Undergraduate engineering degree (international) with GPA ~3.2
Good recommendation letters
GMAT score - 600

You can read my detailed profile here - https://www.linkedin.com/in/amungara

I know my GMAT score is low and I am debating if I should retake it. I am quite confident that I can get the GMAT score up a bit with some serious preparation, but not sure if I should be investing my time preparing for one more round of GMAT preparation or better spend the time on my application and relax before starting the program. My only choice of the part time MBA program is NYU. Please advice.

Dear ajaymm,

Based on the class profile listed on the NYU website for this program, I would encourage you to retake the GMAT. While you have lots of professional experience and a good transcript, your GMAT is below the 80% range. While it is possible you could gain admission with a 600 GMAT, it might be worth retaking the test if you think you can get your score up even 20 points (the higher, the better). Additionally, you will need to put together a strong application to be competitive so be sure to spend the time and effort on your essays, resume, and interview preparation.

Good luck,
Lisa
