Founded in 1983, the magazine increased its circulation more than double since then, and its advertising.

(A) increased its circulation more than double since then,
(B) has since increased its circulation more than double,
(C) has since more than doubled its circulation
(D) since then more than doubled its circulation
(E) more than doubled its circulation since then

Between C and D; IMO: D

I would like to know whats wrong in "A"

Is that beacuse it says "more than double"? which leads to a unanswered question "more than double of what?"

Whereas in "more than doubled" it is understood that its two times of its own circulation.

Is the expalination above correct?

Experts pls reply.

IMO DOUBLED in D is an adjective modifying "its circulation and its advertising" and so, sentence does not have a main verb;

IMO C

I'll go with C. Since then seems redundant.
C is more concise.
