MBA Programs in LA

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in being in SoCal long term and given that, would love your input about Marshall and Anderson. I understand that Anderson is generally thought to be the more national brand but it seems like both are well respected in Southern California.

How do the two compare? What are key differences in terms of academics, recruiting and reputation that I should consider? If admitted to both, how would you decide? I'm well aware of the difference between the neighborhoods of the two schools and that doesn't affect my considerations.

Also, if it's helpful, I'm a career switcher and am interested in checking out consulting so if either is particular strong there I'd be interested to hear.

Hello,

I lived in LA for about 3+ years and then moved to the Bay Area. At that time I did a lot of research about the B-schools in CA.

Ranking wise, UCLA over USC, but you need to visit both of them to feel them out. UCLA has a stronger national branding; and yes, both as well respected in SoCal.

Aim for both

You may also want to consider Haas but put that into perspective with your post-MBA plans and how it would effect your MBA scheduling as well.
