In my opinion, i think the following:

<< Being a Sunday, the library was closed. >>

(A) Being a Sunday, the library was closed (Wrong modifier for library)

(B) It being a Sunday, the library was closed - correctly modified with "it"

(C) The library, being a Sunday, was closed. (Wrong modifier for library)

(D) Since it was a Sunday, library was closed. (Wrong modifier for library)

(E) The library was closed, being a Sunday. (Wrong modifier for library)

A and C both imply that the library was a Sunday. E also has a modifier error.

D is missing the definite article "the."

B is not great, but it's the least terrible?

Where is this question from? It's not very GMAT-like.
