Modulas question..!

What is the value of mod(x + 7)?

(1) mod(x + 3) = 14
(2) (x + 2)^2 = 169

------------- my approach--------

(1) x can be -17 or 11
(2) x can be -15 or 11...[as (x+2)=+/- 13]


-OA is D. I think its C. thoughts?
