which school is better , Uvic or unb

I'm not sure how much experience Stacey has with Canadian schools, so I figured that I'd weigh in.

It really depends on what you want to do with your degree. Inside Canada, U Vic has a stronger reputation than UNB. However, those two schools are literally on opposite sides of the country (about 6000km apart), so for the most part have completely different recruiting networks as far as post-graduate jobs.

Outside of Canada, U Vic has a good reputation along the Pacific rim (especially on the west coast of Canada and the northwestern USA) and UNB probably doesn't have much of an international reputation at all.

I concur with Stuart and glad he gave a post as I am definitely not as familiar with Canadian schools as US schools. I encourage you to visit the sticky on school selection for some tips on evaluating programs. Regarding your two choices, it is best to go with the program that is the best match for you in terms of career opportunities and curriculum. Additionally, you want to pick the program where you feel comfortable at as you will be spending most of your time there for the next two years.

Perhaps one has better connections to your desired post-MBA career or is the better geographical location for your desired post-MBA industry? Does one offer more electives in the functional/industry area of interest to you? I hope you have been able to visit both in person to get an idea of the culture of the programs. If not, then think about all of your interactions with the school during the admission process and you might find one did a "better" job in your opinion.
