Take the GMAT Again?

I just took the GMAT (literally a couple hours ago) and got a 700, which I'm happy with. Based on the official practice tests and my high/low quant and verbal scores I was looking at anywhere from 660-740, so 700 is right there in the middle.

My question is whether it's worth it to take it one more time and hope for something higher. Opinions seem mixed on whether admissions officers would look at all scores or just the highest and I don't have a particular school/score in mind, I'm simply thinking that a higher score would allow me to get into a better school.

Any thoughts from those that have been around the block would really be appreciated. Thanks!

700 is good score.
you could invest your time and 250$ in essay and profile improvement.

If you're trying to get to a Top 5 US school or a school like Yale where the GMAT median is 720 or so, then you should retake. Otherwise, I think you should spend your time improving essays.

If you will put in the energy to study, it's worth it. You have the luxury of time cause we are only in April. And 40 points can make a HUGE difference. But don't just retake "hoping" to get a better score, study!!!!

Depends on where you want to apply, I guess. It's generally considered that the work/effort required to score above 700 is exponentially greater than the effort it takes to get up to 700. So assess your time and aspirations and the opportunity cost (i.e. what you could be doing otherwise). Personally, I'd spend that time/money/effort on strengthening the rest of my application, perhaps even working on some voluntary or extra-curricular stuff to give my application some more breadth.
