I got this one wrong on the mock test of princeton review. Try this one,

Hannibal, during the Second Punic War in 218 B.C., marched the Carthaginian army into Northern Italy by crossing the Alps and he won three decisive victories over the Roman Republic.

he won three decisive victories over the Roman Republic

won three decisive victories on the Roman Republic

winning over the Roman Republic three decisive victories

won three decisive victories over the Roman Republic

winning three victories over the Roman Republic decisively

OA is D[/spoiler]

he won three decisive victories over the Roman Republic - Run on sentence. If COMMA was placed before and then this would correctly join two independent clauses.

won three decisive victories on the Roman Republic

winning over the Roman Republic three decisive victories

won three decisive victories over the Roman Republic

winning three victories over the Roman Republic decisively
