Emergency - No Passport

I'm scheduled to take the GMAT on Tuesday. My passport is somewhere inside the UK Home Office. Being that the customs gents can't find my passport, I can't take the GMAT in the UK as an American.

Question:

Will an Emergency Passport, issued from the US Embassy, meet the "passport*" criteria of the GMAC?
