Which order of books should I study in? (OG+PSCR+MHSC+tests)

Hi all,

I already took a diagnostic test a little under a year ago and I scored a 410 (yikes). It was princeton review.

I bought several GMAT study books. I take the test in a little under 60 days. I worked my way through Barrons GMAT math workbook to catch up on math review. Now, I have OG 12m, Powerscore Critical Reasoning and ManhattanGMAT Sentence Correction left.

Is it best to start working through OG or should I work through the senetence correction and cr books first to learn the appropriate strategies?

Also, I have 6 free tests through Manhattan GMAT and the 3 through MGMAT. Should I start taking one Manhattan GMAT test a week and then finish up with the MGMAT or should I skip the manhattan all together and just take the MGMAT tests?

What's the difference between MGMAT and Manhattan GMAT ?

Start with a GMATPrep test to know where you stand. Get to know the basics and attempt the GMATPrep so that you get a good estimate of your present state. Analyze the test very well and look out for weak and strong areas. Hone your weak areas one by one improving them all. Each week take a mock test to keep you on track and to increase your stamina/concentration. Too many mocks at short intervals say 3 or 4 in a week are of no use. Mock tests are useful to know your weak/strong areas and improve stamina/concentration. So use them wisely and improve your content. While you are half way through your preparation go for GMATPrep again. Repeat the used one or the other. It is more important to keep track with your GMATPrep test often than to rely completely on other test prep mocks as they might be over representative or under representative of your actual scores/ability. Reorganize your preparation and work your way up to the target score. OG is suffice by all means. If you feel that you are particularly weak in any section then go for the powerscore or MGMAT guides. Both the books mentioned are good by the way. Hope this helps !!

Oops, I was saying MGMAT to mean the official GMAT practice tests! I was confused, sorry. This is a good strategy. Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I am afraid to take the official practice tests. Scoring a 410 the first time was quite traumatic.

I will revise my study plan tonight! Any other suggestions are welcomed!
