When to create verbal (A,B,...) & timing (Q10 - 55m...)

As everybody knows, pacing/timing is very crutial for the GMAT success. I wanted to have a pacing grid (e.g. in Quant, 55min by Q10, 45min by Q15 etc.) and may be DS grid (AD BCE) on the pad before I start the Quant section. In the similar manner, I wanted to have ans grid (A,B,C,D,E) on the pad before I srart the Verbal section. I heard that we get only 1 min to read the instructions. I guess we can use that time to write the grid rather than reading the instrucitons.

But, is there any other places that you can pull a minute here and there to do the preparation stuff such as the one I talked above? Is there any way you can earn few seconds or minutes such as by not clicking next right a way or something like that?

Hi there,

You have to check with the test proctor on when exactly you can start writing on the scratch pad. After you've entered the test room and been brought to the station, there are still a few starting screens where they will want you to ensure that your particulars are correct, enter the school information, etc. If I recall correctly these are not timed (or if they are, they are given very liberal timings.)

I would imagine you could start writing in the pad then, since you're already inside the test room and at your station, but ask them before entering the test room It's not worth getting a test violation over.
