I am not able to understand why are both statements not insufficient.

Answer is C

From stem 2 : the graph intersects ordinate (0,-6).

i.e. y-intercept can be known.and putting it in equation :

y=(x+a)(x+b) => y=ab=>y=-6

but how does that tell that where (two points)it intersects x-axis !!
I didn't understand.

Moreover, to me statement 1 also looks insufficient.

from y=(x+a)(x+b)
=>y=x(x+a+b)+ab
=>y=x(x-1)+ab

I am clueless....
