Hi,

2nd- 600(Q-42,V-30) (Oct 2011)
3rd- 680(Q-49,V-33) (Dec 2011)

Before my 3rd attempt i was getting 700+ on practice tests. But eventually could not get 700+ in the real one :(

UnderGrad- Bachelor Of Engg in Electronics and Telecommunication
GPA-3.2 from University of Pune in India

Work Exp- 3.6 years at Accenture as a SAP Consultant in India which includes 6 months at Singapore in client facing Role.
Received several awards at Accenture as STAR ASE(new joinee),Best Team player etc.
Also got promoted twice during my tenure at Accenture.Got rated in the TOP 5% during the performance appraisal cycle.
Recommenders- My previous supervisor and my client at Accenture.

I am looking at top B-schools at US.Not Harvard,Stanford...But a Notch below them like Ross,Kelley,Stern etc.

Can you please tell me about my chances at getting in? Should i Retake my GMAT?

Anuj,

Great job improving your GMAT score. While I know it isn't the score you were hoping for, your total improvement of 210 points from your first attempt is quite impressive!

Your professional experience seems quite solid and your international experience in Singapore is certainly a great boost to your overall profile. I think you could indeed be competitive at schools in the top 20-20 range. If you wish to try for schools in the top 20 you should indeed consider ways to improve your profile. Retaking the GMAT is certainly an option, but I would only suggest it if you indeed felt you could improve your score. Given your practice test scores of 700, it seems like you might have indeed reached your maximum score (it's quite common to score 10-30 points below practice scores). That being said, perhaps spending your time and energy developing your extracurricular activities could be worthwhile - you don't specifically mention them in your post so I don't know if they are a strength or weaker area.

Best,

Stacey
