CFA Level1?

I will most probably be accepting the offer from the Simon School. I am thinking about a career in financial consulting (Simon's strength is in Finance, and Consulting is my preferred career choice. I guess it makes sense. any thoughts?)

Here's my question:

I have plenty of time right now, and nothing much to do apart from my current job, which I am soon to quit. I was thinking about completing CFA level 1 by this June? Do you think a CFA L1 in any way will help me get a job in the industry of my choice after MBA?

If you are going into Finance, sure. If not, (going into general management consulting) then only do it if the knowledge is valuable to you personally. You can also do a PhD in roman History if you love it. Will it necessarily help you get a better job if you want to be a consultant? Eh.
