DS-QUAD 2 INTERSECT

Hi All,

I know This has been discussed before. But the way it was explained was not clear to me. Someone please help. I was able to answer taking help of Mr. Guess. But Please let me know right methods for doing this kind of DS

This question is basically asking if the line has a negative slope.

The picture shows that a line with a negative slope will at some point intersect Quadrant 2. Note the line drawn and slide it back and forth along the grey shaded arrows. Also, if the line has a positive slope, then it must have a point in quadrant 2 for it to intersect Quadrant 2.



(1) Has negative slope. Sufficient.

(2) The y-intercept is the point (0, -6). This point is not in quadrant 2 nor do we have enough information to determine whether the slope of the line is (+) or (-). Not sufficient.
