If the symbol ## represents either addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, what is the value of 6 ## 2?
(1) 10 ## 5 = 2
(2) 4 ## 2 = 2
A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

PS - The symbol shown in the actual question is an inverted triangle .... but I couldn't get that image here ... so have used an alternate symbol ....

IMO, it is D but OA says A.

IMO, it is D but OA says A.
For statement 2- the symbol could be division or subtraction which would yield two different values for 6 ## 2. Insufficient.

The Q is asking what is the ## operation out of these 4 op's

Statement 1

10 ## 5 =2

The only way for that to happen is ## is division

Statement 2

4 ##2 =2

Here ## can be / or -

Hence A
