Let c = cow and p = pigs

From question, we know that c + p = 40

(1) c>2p; p could be 12 and c could be 28 or c could be 13 and p could be 27. Insufficient;

(2) c>12; no info on p. Insufficient

(1) and (2); c must be 13 and p must be 27 for all conditions to be true.
