Demonstrating Superior Communication Skill

by AbhiJ » Wed Feb 01, 2012 4:23 am
I belong to the competetive Indian/Tech/Male Category. The perceived weakness of this group is on the softer side, namely communication skill.

Is there any way to exhibit superior communication skill to the adcoms - before the interviews ?
My TOEFL speaking score is 24 and the overall score is 111.
Though I can improve my speaking score,i believe there must be better ways to demonstrate the same.

Any suggestions ? Will taking any other exam serve the purpose ?

Hi AbhiJ,

Thanks for posting. Are you referring to expressing your communication skills in your business school application? If so, one of the best ways to do this is through using examples of leadership and how you impacted others around you.

I recommend you read this case study of an Indian applicant who did this and was accepted into MIT, Columbia, and Tuck:
