Each of ten items was cost C dollars. If 8 items were sold out at price of D (d>c) and 2 items were sold out at price of 1.1C, what is the ratio of profit to cost?
1).d=c+8
2).d=1.2c

Cost per item =C/10 and sale per item=D/8

Sale=D+1.1C Cost=C. profit=D+1.1C-C

Ratio= D+1.1C-C/C.

We have to know either D in terms of C or C in terms of D.

St.(1) We cannot find the ratio. Not sufficient.

St.(2) We can find the ratio.Sufficient.
