Hi, the answer its b, because if you know that y is multiple of x yo also know that y and x are related, so even in you multiply by 2 you will have a multiple of y, statement 1 is insufficient because you dont know if the +2 wil give you a multiple
x=3 and y=6
2x=6 so y is a multiple
x=4 and y=12
2x=8 so y is not a multiple
