If x is equal to the square root of y , and y is increased by 70%, by what percent does x increase ?

x = √y
lets say y = 100
x = 10

y is increased by 70%
y' = 170

x' = √170
Approx 13

(x' - x)/x *100= (13-10)/10 *100 = 30% approx
