the certificate itself will not, but think bigger - what will having the certificate provide for you in your life that will help you excel in other areas? that's more important than having a certificate itself.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

I'm of the belief that if the courses that you will take are graduate level courses and if some of them are especially of a quantitative nature, then it provides a good complement to your profile. And certainly, more course work never hurts!

I had a pretty low undergrad GPA, but I topped it with a graduate diploma program at a reputable school and scored much higher. The 10 or so graduate level courses I took (some of which were quant based) and my good performance on them provided a solid proof to adcoms that I was capable of taking the workload and at excelling. As long as you can also prove this, I say go for it.
