Yesterday I took MGMAT test and I got a score of 530 (Q-39,V-24). After 2-3 months preparation of GMAT still I am getting the score less than 600. My actual GMAT exam D-Date is on Jan-14. Still I am having 16 days.

My weekness are in verbal (especially RC). In CR i can eliminate all the 3 choice and between two choices i am selecting the wrong one most of the time.

In SC, my weekest part is in verb sequencing, & in meaning.

In Quant, for the tough word problems, I am taking too much of time. For some of the problems if i think that it will take more than 4 mins to solve then i am making some guessing and moving to the next qn. Probably this guessing answers are wrong at most of the time.

As most of the time, i use to see the posts in the BTG forum. Thanks to all members and especially for experts who is having patience to answer all the qns (even if it is a silly qn).

I searched for a study plan of two weeks in GMAT strategy & in I just beat the GMAT forum, but i am unable to find the same.

For GMAT, I have spent lot of pennies and lot of time. I like the following sentence,

" GMAT is not the part of life, but it can make the life better".

This is my second attempt. My GMAT score in the first attempt is 470 (Q-45, V-12).

I have taken two weeks leave for GMAT preparation.

Kindly assist me with some good study plan so that I can cross atleast 650 border.

I can analyse that I have to improve both in verbal & in Quant.

I request the experts to help me in this regard.

I've mentioned this before, but one student I worked with had a large jump in RC accuracy when he started reading only the first and last sentences of each paragraph THEN went back to read the whole passage, knowing generally what its outline was. He also took notes, but I consider that entirely optional.

As for your study plan, every person is different, but you should:

1) practice every day, obviously
2) take full-length practice tests every week at least, perhaps two per week, with a thorough analysis
3) make sure you really DO get it wrong most of the time when you narrow a question down to 2 or 3 -- TRACK THIS. Most people get the mistaken impression that they are usually wrong because they read the explanation to a question they got wrong and remember they had it down to 2 answers; they do not go over their correct answers and remember which ones they had narrowed down to 2, and so have a false impression of their performance

As for the guessing, if you know a question will take you a long time, it is best not to waste that time. The 5+ minutes you spend on one challenging question could even be three easier questions correct. This is not a fixed rule -- if you are on the verge of the right answer, please do answer it, but if you are lost, or if the only way you can see to do the problem will require 6 minutes of calculation, then you should absolutely guess and move on.
