Hi,
I scored 530 (Q44 V19) on my previous attempt 1.5 years ago. During my preparations this time, I ignored quants completely and focused heavily towards improving my verbal section, especially RC and CR.
I improved upon my RC, which I struggled with, using RC 99. Now I am quite comfortable with the difficult RC questions from OG12. I don't know in what difficulty range the latter questions of RC from OG12 fall. So I am not sure for what level I am comfortable with
Improving upon RC also helped me improve my SC since now I attentively look out for meaning issues as well, instead of focusing only on rules from Manhattan SC guide.
I still struggle with CR though to lesser extent than I did previously. I have used the Bible. I can boil down to two answer choices but mostly end up picking up the wrong answer
. There were times when I made a silly mistake by rushing in to answer and not reading other answer choices completely only to realize later that I could have nailed this one had I read and understood the answer choice.
Being an engineer, I am comfortable with numbers and score between 40 and 44 without studying much. Having said that, my weak areas, like most others, are statistics, probability, P & C, counting numbers.
I had scheduled my GMAT for 11th Jan,2012, but postponed it by a month and a half to 24th Feb. I have been scoring between 630-650 (42-44Q 33-35V) in Manhattan CAT. I need to improve by at least 4-5 points in each section, which doesn't sound unachievable does it? It feels like so near yet so far. Please suggest a pathway to improvement? I was struggling with time management but working with practice test helped me. So it looks like it is the material I need to master.
Thank you.
