Dear Friends,
i wrote gmat a few days back and got a score of 660.First I would you like to get acquainted with my profile:
Name : Captain Varun Sharma

Qualification : Post graduate diploma in business administration (hr)- 66%
Bachelor of Commerce ( hons) 57 %

Work Experience : More than 7 Years
Captain in Army ( Artillery) March 2009-till date
Lieutenant in Army ( Artillery) March 2007- March 2009
Senior Customer Care Executive ( bpo) 1 year
Customer Care Executive 6 months


Extra Curricular : Moderating a group meant to help the retired army officer in finding a
Job. Started this group 2 years back and has more than 450 members at present with most of the members contributing in a positive manner.
: Helping Battle Casualties and war widows.

Hobbies : Acting
: Listening music
: Playing Soccer, tennis, cricket.
Being in army i have participated in various operations and have always produced positive result. I
have led teams consisting of 150 men and have worked in a difficult terrain and varied situations. My biggest strengths are being positive, flexible ,adaptive to any situation and a helpful team member.

did u already apply for ISB R2??? I assume you do have strong reasons for an MBA and a clearly thought out post MBA plan... if so, ISB would love to take you

Captain,
Any adcom is going to wonder how a 57% qualifies as honors. Don't highlight this.
You have leadership skills & have accomplished much. Here's your ticket. Anyone who has managed a battalion & artillery has awesome skills. Let these be the thread tying your application together.

To me your GMAT score & academic history seem lackluster; focus on displaying your work/leadership/personality.

I know that I have not performed brilliantly in grads but i did get a 77 % in 12th and has also performed well in my artillery specific course. Moreover i did take part in a lot extra curricular activities. Thanks for the advice and i will try to utilise my work experience as a strong reason for my selection .
