Hey Guys,

First of all I'd like to say a very big THANK YOU to all the instructors here at BeattheGMAT.com plus all the instructors from Grockit and e-GMAT. Both are wonderful courses and they helped me during my GMAT journey. I'll keep it short and simple.

On my first attempt at GMAT I scored a 600 and I was very dejected. But, I booked my next date after a gap of 3 months. I studied through Grockit, ManhattanGMAT books, and eGMAT. And I scored a 710 on my second attempt.

I have currently 1.5 years of work experience. So now I just wanted to know have my chances improved for getting into an MBA program?

Can I still consider applying to MBA programs of Nanyang and NUS, Singapore?
Or should I apply with this score to the US universities next year?

EssaySnark isn't an expert on the schools you named and we don't actually have insight into how much work experience they require/prefer, so hopefully someone else might add a comment about that.

The GMAT score and the years of work experience actually are not interrelated in terms of how most schools will evaluate your profile. In other words, a good GMAT score cannot make up for having less work experience than a school prefers. If you currently have just a little work experience, then yes, we might recommend that you try for a US school next year, since you'll be closer to their average age limit. Of course, if you have very strong stories of leadership and impact, then you might be able to give it a shot this year - but you'd need to take a "reapplicant strategy" approach, since the odds might be against you (we describe what we mean here: https://30days.hoop.la/displaycontent/co ... 0198229094 -- plus you should go into all your preparations this year with an eye to how you can keep working to boost your profile for next year, too).

The 710 score will open the door for you, as it qualifies you to apply to any top program. As a younger candidate, the adcoms tend to weigh the GPA a little higher, since you just recently completed your university education, so that will matter just as much. And as we said, leadership leadership leadership. If you can show the right elements of contribution and impact on the job and in the community, you could definitely have a shot this year. It's up to you to weigh all those factors out. It's always easier to get in as a "fresh" applicant rather than as a reapplicant (esp at some schools), however many schools (not all) are very reapplicant-friendly, so you could try this year and see what happens.

Good show. I had the very same scores on consecutive tests: 600 and 710 but had only 35 days between tests. The score should allow you to apply anywhere you please; make sure you highlight your unique assets.
