if a certain quadrilateral has four equal angles, what is its area ?

1) if the length of the quadrialteral is doubled, the area increases by 64 square units
2) if the width of the quadrilateral is reduced to half, its area decreases by 32 square units

OA:D

I dont think i agree with OA , lets see what you think !

A quadrilateral with 4 equal angles is a rectangle or a square.
Area = lw.

Statement 1: If the length of the quadrilateral is doubled, the area increases by 64 square units.
(2l)(w) = lw + 64.
lw = 64.
SUFFICIENT.

Statement 2: If the width of the quadrilateral is reduced by half, its area decreases by 32 square units.
(l)(w/2) = lw - 32
32 = (lw)/2
64 = lw.
SUFFICIENT.

The correct answer is D.

oh my bad ! i had the same approach but misinterpreted "length" and "width" to mean a "side" and consequently changed both when i considered it to be a square !
