New Gmat or Current Gmat

Hi All.... I'm currently preparing for my GMAT... but apparently the GMAT format is changing in June 2012.. a new topic called integrated reasoning is being introduced... now im just confused whether i should write the new format or continue studying and write it in April as i had planned? Would it make a difference if i waited 2 more months and wrote the new GMAT?? would universities consider the fact the an applicant has taken the New GMAT instead of the old???

I think you should give the test before the change happen...

If you go for the new GMAT, you'll have to study for a whole new section.. compromising your focus on the other two sections..
and integrated reasoning score doesnt even add to the actual score out of 800..
so save yourself the horror of a new section while you still can...

"old GMAT" and "new GMAT" is a little bit too strong of wording.

The portions that give you your main score will not be changing. A 700 on the "old GMAT" is still a 700 on the "new GMAT."

Replacing one essay with a new integrated reasoning section does require you to at least study that section a little. However, I think it might be more interesting than cranking out a second essay.

Bottom line - take the test whenever you are going to score the best on Quant and Verbal. As rijul007 says you can take it before June and not face studying for the new section, but I would neither rush to beat the changes nor delay to wait for them. I would take the test when I was ready to rock the Quant and the Verbal.

@Riju and David..... thanks a lot guys... just needed this advice... in that case.. i guess i'll continue with my current preparation and write gmat when I feel confident in quant and verbal... Thanks again... \m/
