Split infinitive

Which one of the following 2 statement is correct

1.To lose money sometimes is irresponsible

2.To sometimes lose money is irresponsible.

The book says that the 2nd statement is correct but I believe this is a case of split infinitive

Vishal,

Inclusion of any adverb in between TO and VERB is considered incorrect as per MGMAT SC 4th Edition.

Incorrect: To quickly finish
Correct: To finish quickly
