semi colon -- we need a independent clauses on both sides..

In the original sentence there is no subject in the second part. who is seeking sun, sand etc?

we need "they" here. to make it an independent clause.

IMO E. We need independent clauses on both sides as said by saket.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
