1. The ratio of their investment is 1:2:3

2. The ratio of the times for which they invested was inversely proportional to the ratios of their investments.
wait what?
is this all the information they gave you?
if so, then it's definitely insufficient, because you have to know how the investments work in the first place.

for instance, if the investment is based on simple interest, then each of them would make exactly the same profit, since they're investing for times in the ratio 1 : 1/2 : 1/3.

if the investment is based on compound interest, or on some other protocol, then they could indeed have differential profits.

in any case, what else does the problem tell you? and if it doesn't tell you anything else, where'd you get this awful thing?

I have couple of ds problem sources irrespective of GMAT style !!
They are just the set of DS problems that i try to solve !!

So this may not be a proper set question according to GMAT pattern !!

well, ok.
hopefully, though, you've already gone through as many questions as possible from sources that do have the same style as the gmat: official problems first, then big-name prep books, then everything else.

if you've already exhausted all the major sources, though, then i guess additional sources couldn't hurt.

good luck!

I finished the DS portion of Quant review.
I am solving the DS portion of OG 10th edition so far.

And at the same time doing DS probs from various other sources.
So far not tried the KAPLAN 800 (which i have).

But most of the resources apart from typical GMAT style, that i have are from CAT (conducted by top indian MBA institutes).

Even the question itself is horrible.

"Who shared the maximum profit among A, B and C ?"

Shared? Are we looking for a single person? A pair of people? All 3 of them?

Please post the sources of questions in your original posts so we know if it's a GMAT style question.
